Hi,

Just wanted to share an article about common SDR comparison: http://akacrow.tech/index.php?post/2016 ... -vs-Airspy
More stuff is on the way. Feel free to feedback.

Re: WXTOIMG very shifted images

Hi, Looks like overloaded CPU or maybe a changing CPU clock frequency during process. Is there any other running background applications while recording the pass? If you have a laptop, try to set it on high performance mode (assuming you're on a windows). But first, under Options, enabling Resync sh...

Is wire length critical in QFH antenna?

Hi! Almost all is in the title, just wondering if wires length in antenna is really critical and results in more than 5db signal loss ? I mean with a correctly QFH matched antenna at saying 137MHz but with "extra" coax length at the top (to make it easier to connect each leg) like 5cm at each wire. ...

Re: AirSpy mini, hot in every sense

Thank you for your reply. Indeed, using a fan reduce greatly the heat when the ambiant temperature is high. Here are a some picture took with the thermal camera on an AirSpy Mini and FM+DAB USB DVB-T dongle after 15 minutes of use. The airspy mini case feels a lot hotter, but in reality it's because...

AirSpy mini, hot in every sense

Hi everyone, I just received the AirSpy mini and it works perfectly as expected, clear signal and incredible sensitivity. Just a thing I noticed about the dongle, it's quickly pretty hot ! I don't know yet the exact temperature but it feels like ~50°C (122°F), but maybe less as it's have a aluminium...

Re: Sdrsharp and airspy mini

Hi,

Generally, you just have to move the files you downloaded in the SdrSharp directory and then edit the "Plugins.xml" file in the same directory adding the majic line provided with the plugin.
Just be careful when adding the majic line, it must be IN the

Code: Select all

<sharpPlugins></sharpPlugins>
tag.

Re: Hack RF One interference

Yes I guess the emission is near the USB port and propagate through the cable, I've located the source at the two square components in this area. I'll install some ferrite core to my usb cable as it seems to be pretty effective in some cases: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuBHSi6Y_8Q Last hope bef...

Hack RF One interference

Hi everyone, Since few days, I noticed some redundant signal at different frequencies causing a global noise increase and disturbing when picking up some weak signal (NOAA weather satellites). With some investiguation and a RTL-SDR dongle, I finally figured out it came from the hack rf itself. I'm n...

Re: DIY QFH Antenna troubleshooting

Hi, Some news, I finally got the proper settings (I guess) to pick up the signal. Results are not perfect but much better than the last time. Here are some images from NOAAs satellites. You could see I experience some lag due to my laptop. I noticed turning the antenna resulted in changing pretty st...
