The Ham-It-Up converter is designed to add the oscillator frequency of the converter. Depending on when the Ham-It-Up converter was made will determine the frequency that is adds. There are several reviews of up converters here on RTL/SDR.COM. I personally like the Ham It Up converter. I have had one for a couple years now and could not be happier. The QC was excellent but for me the on board noise source was the determining factor. If you stay in the hobby any length of time...

A quick search of AliExpress shows several amplifiers that will work with outputs of 2 too 7 watts for under $50.

I think they will make very nice antenna switches. They are designed well with a good isolation.
I have one beside me now. It was$1 at the Salvation Army. It is just an A-B switch that I am confident will work well. As of yesterday I ordered the adapters from Alie-express to adapt to sma.
