Re: My idea for a KerberosSDR #2 iteration

"Not sure if the PCB layout restrictions will allow for that but we'll see. Some RF traces need specific routing which makes the layout tricky. For rack mount, isn't it better if all connectors are on one side?" First - would a shielded, internal cable moving the antenna connectors to the other side...

Re: My idea for a KerberosSDR #2 iteration

A few suggestions for future releases: - Replace those flimsy micro USB connectors - preferably with 2 x USB-C. If we can not find a non PD USB-C charger, it is just a matter of using a USB-A to USB-C cable. Include a couple in the package if possible -and adjust the price. - 6 x SDR would likely im...

Re: Direction finding with directional antennas. Is it possible?

This may not work for KSDR triangulation - with the .33 wavelength optimal distance, but I am considering attempting to construct a vertical parabolic reflector with a half wavelength dipole in the center. Parabolic in the horizontal plane only - like a metal drum split vertically in two - and resha...

Re: Direction finding with directional antennas. Is it possible?

Interesting question. I would expect interferrence on the higher frequencies - if you need to keep a a distance between multi element yagis at 1/3 wavelength. that would be just over 20 cm at 460 Mhz. Keep us posted with results - I see the need, as my SDR's appear to be much less sensitive than my ...

Re: Understanding Incident Angle

Thanks - that was my suspicion - but likely partly caused by multi path interferrence - my directions has been way off. I am working from an indoors, permanently mounted antenna - which has just been moved close to the ceiling and a few metal objects in the same height have been removed. That improv...

Incident Angle

I have a little trouble relating "Incident Angle" in the KerberosSDR app on the Raspberry Pi - to real world bearings. I have a setup with antenna 1 pointing North, 2, East, 3, South and 4 West Should my Incident Angle display show correct compass bearing with signals coming from N showing 0/360 deg...

Understanding Incident Angle

How do I read the Incident Angle display on the KerberosSDR app ? Is the degrees alligned with North - if the line from antenna 3 to antenna 1 is pointing North ? Second - the compass - it shows +/- degrees - suggesting it is referring to an angle left/right of a heading - which is non existing on a...

Re: Advice for tracking intermittent signal

I have only had the KerberosSDR for a few days - and have issues too with short bursts of signals - like DMR Beacons. However - after upgrading from a Raspberry Pi 3 to a 4 - several things have improved a LOT: - Sync now takes just a few seconds - I can capture much shorter signals - and it appears...

Re: Reboot when syncing with noise source

Yes, a 2.4A charger + whatever it gets from the Pi

But all reboot issues solved after changing the Micro USB cable

Re: Reboot when syncing with noise source

Cancel that. Solved by switching to a better USB cable feeding the Pi.

I do have an USB power meter - these are really great tools when comparing USB cables - charge current between the same USB 2.4A power supply and a device may range between 0.5 and. 1.9 A depending on the cable.
