Re: Simple dipole for FM-BC reception. To balun or not to ba

If using twin lead as the lead in to the receiver, no balun needed. If using coax I'd use a balun as they should make the transition from balanced (the dipole antenna legs) to unbalanced (the coaxial cable) optimal. A balun should also help reject noise coming off the coax from inside the house from...

Re: Antenna for SW CHU time. 3.33, 7.850 & 14.67 Mhz

CHU transmits in usb plus carrier so receiving in usb mode would be best, with appropriate filter, adjusting a 350Hz filter around the X25 signal would optimise performance. It sounds like an interesting project but with all the variables in app code, sdr latency, pci timer, and system timer, it may...

Re: Multiprocessor

In general, if using windows one can look at task manager to see how many threads an application is using, this will give you an idea as to how many threads an app is coded for. You might have to set task manager to show thread count first. In my case sdr# shows 25 threads.

Re: I need answer about this...

In places like Merry Old England they have or had vans with sensitive electronics inside, that drive around listening for the telltale emissions of receivers, hoping to find those who haven't paid the tax on their receiver, so it (detecting receivers in use) can be done to a degree. Most sdr receive...

Re: New HDSDR Version 2.75

Keep at it I'm sure you'll get this working, however as stated above, for scanner use SDR# may be better suited. That being said, HDSDR has very low cpu and memory footprint than many other sdr control apps and runs wonderfully.

Here's what you need to do to be able to detect if someone has intercepted your signal;

Re: RTL-SDR Dongle Bad how due i get it replaced

It may be overloading on strong in and out of band signals. Do you have an antenna tuner or preselector to use in line with the rtl?

Re: DIY coax antenna switchers

As long as isolation and loss are inconsequential, a humble dpdt or other similar switch will do, but if you're using the system at microwave freqs the losses will be pretty steep.
