Re: HDSDR waterfall
I don't believe there an option to do that with HDSDR. In fact it's the main reason why i use it, the signals (to my eyes at least) look better flowing up from the spectrum section.

Re: RTL-SDR Wideband LNA
The Discone is grounded to the same earth stake as the other antennas mentioned. I've since pulled it down and packed it away. I think i'm lucky that only the LNA units were damaged and not my more expensive SDRs. Looking at the price of the SPF5189Z chips, it's not worth replacing them. I have no i...

RTL-SDR Wideband LNA
My second LNA has now failed. Strange thing is, it's only started happening since i connected them to a discone! They both ran quite happily on custom 150MHz Dipole, 450 MHz 1/4 wave and 1090 MHz 1/4 wave antennas. Any thoughts on what is happening? My theory is that the the discone is wideband enou...

It is quite normal for the unit to get very hot depending on what you are using it for.

Re: Check out the specs on THESE receivers!
According to a 2013 RR post the 40GHz unit was $60,000 USD. I'll have to check down the back of the couch, but i don't think i will be getting one this year.

Re: diy biquad for inmarsat
Cheers, i've had no issues receiving the audio since Jonti released the last version. The main reason i wanted to try another antenna was to try and see if i can increase the signal strength for roughly 12 or so hours that the sat wanders further north of the equator and signals are next to non exis...
