Re: Multiple sdr’s on Window PC

I run 3 continuously.
And maybe 2 more from time to time.
Running two of the same type might not be immediately straightforward but if the computer copes there is no limit.

Re: Retreiving the Raw data - Gain, Input Power, other settings...

Perhaps you are an advanced user and I do not understand.
But it seems to me the gain (and approximate frequency) is set by the DLL, the other things can only be measured using calibration tools.
"Output Power after gain setting" what do you mean, what output?

Re: RTL-SDR Device Not Found by SDR# or HDSDR (Intermittent)

It seems that Zadig is not working.
Have you antivirus or other security features stopping the driver install?

Re: SDR# issues

You could try v1784
If you watch the Airspy group you may have seen an answer, I made no notes but there have been a few updates recently, not every one immediately successful.
I usually wait a few weeks until things have been proven.

Re: What is simplest software that will direct sample with an appropriate sample frequency?

I have not got any idea of what you are trying to do but the fundamental fact is that you will not sample at much more than 2MHz from a RTL.
More than that requires a different SDR. Up to 30MHz and beyond is available but not quite so cheaply.

Re: Trunking and just plain receiving

There is a lot of information on the very site, one page here https://www.rtl-sdr.com/rtl-sdr-quick-start-guide/
There are many software options for the RTL.

Re: Are these valid RTL-SDR products ?

I do not know these.
But you are on the site of the well-known RTL V3 https://www.rtl-sdr.com/buy-rtl-sdr-dvb-t-dongles/

Re: Hard Question: Is it worth all the headaches?

If your radio failed then ask for an exchange. SDR has been around for a long time but it hardly ever is really easy. Of course a seller will say it's easy. To be fair perhaps they have forgotten the hours they spent in the beginning. The reason is that you are expected to supply a computer and conf...

Re: Newbie Question: Computer System Requirements

You only need the files, maybe on a USB stick. The computer does not need to be connected to the internet to run a SDR.
There is SDR software that runs on XP, HDSDR, a version of SDR# is available and an old version of SDR Console. OS is not critical for basic operation.

Re: Newbie Question: Computer System Requirements

Try it.
I cannot remember anyone saying their computer is not good enough for a RTL dongle.
