Re: Advice Please. GNRadio, Osmocom Libraries, Straight Python?

I am still working my way through some issues and things are not that reliable yet. For example I cannot get a flow graph to run on my Pi if it contains any Osmocom blocks. If you can make it run on your computer I would recommend jumping right in with Dan's code. I do intend to make what I have ava...

USB_claim_interface error -6 Eliminate unplugging

I have found that if my program didn't end "nice", the next time I try to run rtl_sdr I will get "USB_claim_interface error -6" I have found that all I have to do is unplug the dongle and plug it back in and the error is gone. I guess USB port thinks it is still in use by the program that was "un-ni...

Re: Advice Please. GNRadio, Osmocom Libraries, Straight Python?

Actually it was Dan Englender's post on: https://denglend.github.io/decode345/ that inspired me to buy the dongle and RPi. But at the time his steps 3 and 4 were still to be done. That is the MQTT & OpenHab and "what's next". I didn't know he had completed them. In the mean time I plunged ahead. I c...

Re: GNURadio No module named _osmosdr_swig

I'm new to Linux....very new.
So, do you think I should uninstall gr-osmosdr?
Can I do it using apt-get?
If I need to use make uninstall I hope I can find the build directory.

What do you think about doing a clean slate and get rid of everything I tried that used an SDR?

Re: GNURadio No module named _osmosdr_swig

Yes I did compile gnuradio on the Pi. I didn't notice any errors. Do you think I should uninstall GNURadio and osmosdr and try again? I normally would have by now but gr-osmosdr says "make uninstall" first. I tried typing "make uninstall" in the home/pi/gr-osmosdr directory but I get: make: *** No r...

GNURadio No module named _osmosdr_swig

Well, for the last few hours, when trying to run a flow graph in GNC, I have been trying to resolve the error: "ImportError: No module named osmosdr" After countless attempts many searches I found one that said to reinstall gr-osmosdr from osmocom.org. Guess what, no more: "ImportError: No module na...

Advice Please. GNRadio, Osmocom Libraries, Straight Python?

Newbie Alert! Newbie Alert! Please forgive me if it seems I am lost because most likely I am. I have a project where in I want to receive serial data streams from door and window sensors. I have used GNURadio Companion to optimize my setup so i know exactly what I need to do. I use an osmocom Source...

Interface Defination For the RTL-SDR Stick

Is there a definition for the interface to the device? Something that tells me how to set all the parameters? I am considering an application that would run very standalone and I don't want to include SDR# or GNURadio or any other application. I would predetermine all the settings (undoubtedly using...

No Source for RTL-SDR in GNURadio [GNURadio/RTL-SDR/Windows]

I installed GNURadio Companion on my windows 8.1 machine. I can't find a source named "RTL-SDR". I have seen GNURadio Companion images that others have created that show "RTL-SDR" as a source. SDR# runs fine. I can tune to FM broadcasts etc with SDR#. What am I missing?
