I managed to solve this problem by downloading DX888's .zip file and following the instructions

Apparently this new generation of hardware doesn't play nice with windows 7

Alright i recieved a new SDR in the mail and my computer still refuses to recognise it.
I also tried both sticks on a different computer and they worked fine. any ideas? right now i'm thinking the usb controller is being funny but all my other usb devices are ok

It might be the device because rtl-test.exe can't see it either. I'll wait until i get my hands on another one and see what happens

I've tried front and back panel USB and i've tried using a USB 2.0 port. unfortunately i don't have another PC to test with. the usb itself looks ok although it gets really warm just idling

i find most of those spikes are interference from televisions or computer monitors, try leaving SDR running but turning your pc monitor off to see if there's a gap in the waterfall

I've been trying to get SDR# to recognise my tuner but it won't appear in the dropdown menu, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the winusb driver but nothing i try seems to work. I have rtlsdr.dll in the sdrsharp folder and i'm not accidentally installing drivers to the wrong usb device. Anyone h...
