Re: I branch use in direct sampling?
The I-branch is connected to the R820T2 tuner, so it can't be used for HF direct sampling. What I am wondering is whether there might be a pad on the board where a second HF antenna could be attached to that connection somewhere between the tuner and the ADC chips Might need to cut the connection t...

I branch use in direct sampling?
Curious to know whether there is any use for the I branch in the direct sampling mode - as far as I can tell there are no usable HF signals to be had from it...I assume because it would be behind the diplexer that splits HF away from VHF/UHF signals detected via the quadrature mode. If that is true,...

Direct sampling to bandwidth output, how done?
This is fairly deep technical question that applies to all SDRs, purely my curiosity, posting on the chance there is an SDR expert out there who can answer it in a simple manner, or post a hyperlink... I have always wondered how the raw ADC samples in the RTL-SDR dongle (28.8 megasamples/second?) ar...

RTL-SDR.com brand of FM trap - RF power limit?
The RTL-SDR.com brand of FM trap does an excellent job of cleaning things up when there's a FM broadcast tower nearby. It even helps me receive signals with a cheap handheld VHF transceiver (5W) that is susceptible to out of band overload. However, transmitting through a filter like this is a dicey ...

Spektrum software for <24 MHz w/direct sampling
I just started to use the Spektrum software with the RTL-SDR dongle to get a picture of wide sweeps of the spectrum. Really impressed so far. One thing though is I wish there were a way to scan the spectrum below 24 MHz, using direct sampling on the Q branch, like you can do in SDR#. That way I coul...

Re: SDR# Question & SDRPlay Units ?
There is one catch to the new SDRplay "trick", though. If you try to run the Spyserver remote software for remote access to the SDR, the SDRplay won't be found, and I haven't been able to find a workaround in the configuration file to force it to "see" the SDRplay.

Re: SDR# Question & SDRPlay Units ?
another one solution by Christophe Marchand bring back ExtIO devices support for SDR# 1600+ versions, also it support latest SDRplay ExtIO dll from official site dowloads, just unpack SDR#_ExtIO_v1.1.zip to SDR# folder, select UHD/USRP source and choose path to *ExtIO.dll or put it into SDR# folder...

Broadcast AM filter - RF power tolerance?
I have one of the "official" RTL-SDR.com broadcast band filters, which really helps at my location, since there is a 1340 KHz tower just a half a mile away. Without the filter that AM station shows up all over the place. I would like to use the same filter with a low power (1 watt) HF transceiver (r...
