Re: Tetra radio proximity

I hope not to be too off topic, :) but I have more than one Uniden scanner, and noticed that the Close Call RF Capture technology of the UBC125XLT (European version of the BC125AT) detecs TETRA emissions while some other Unidens never "capture" them... I often use it as a "TETRA detector" when I'm o...

DMR units position

Well, I know that LRRP.exe (a module of DSD+) could display the positions of DMR mobile units on a map. There is just a little issue: DSD+ does not decode all the standards used to transmit the GPS position, thus the question is: is there any other way to do that, or maybe there is the hope the deve...

Motorola DTR radios and RTL-SDR

Hello, browsing an Italian electronics e-shop, I recently discovered the existence of a kind of digital two-way radios I wasn't aware before: the Motorola DTR series. They works in the 900 MHz ISM and 2400 MHz ISM bands, with the Frequency-Hoppping Spread-Spectrum digital technology (FHSS) (see www....

Re: Laptop insufficient for rtl sdr?

Hi, I have older Dell e6400 with core 2 duo P8600 and 4GB RAM, Win 7. Yesterday trying record some NOAA satellites I experienced stuttering even when I moved the mouse. Today I had running except the SdrSharp also WXtoimg and orbitron and it was even worse. Power manager is set on high performance,...

Telesurveillance

Hello, I have detected an analog signal at 162.7375 MHz NFM, with CTCSS 114.8 Hz, 107.2 Hz, and sometimes without CTCSS, which triggers a Close Call Capture in my Uniden handheld unit. That has happened a countless number of times in many places in the little city where I live (region Piedmont, Nort...

Recording issue

Hello, I'm using an RTL-SDR dongle with SDR Sharp and, when I try to record the audio of a channel I am monitoring, the file size counter starts and keep increasing even when there is no signal, :( (I always set the squelch value properly, of course). In other words, it looks like SDR Sharp doesn't ...
