Re: Which program supports display of pulse-amplitude vs. ti

You can just record the audio into Audacity, and see the waveform there.
Are you sure Audacity or other audio programs can process/display e.g. short Mode S pulses?

The pulse width is 0.5 µs @50% amplitude points or 2 MHz, while the pulse rise-/decay-time is defined to be <0.05µs.

Which program supports display of pulse-amplitude vs. time

Does anyone know of a program that allows to display pulses or short signal bursts (e.g. long/short Mode S) as signal amplitude over time (or time domain) as shown in the picture? PS.: I saw the plugin for Gnu Plot but I couldn't get mysel to start reading up on GnuPlot http://www.rtl-sdr.com/forum/...

Re: KA Band Sat?

Hi I am from Europa and want to get into the KA Band. I read on a German Website here is no "Wideband" LNB at the moment. I found some on Ebay but I dont know how Widebanig the are. Do I need an special Dish? You need to consider that the focal point (F/D) of any dish depends on it's shape and will ...

Some Mode S 24 bit adress background

The idea for the 24 Bit address was to assign each airframe an unique 24 Bit aircraft address for life. The legacy SSR Mode A allowed only for 4096 addresses "Squawks" (4 octal numbers each 3 Bits) and required change of the Squawk during a flight, whenever the plane was handed over from one ATC con...

Re: O.T. Icom IC27A 2 meter mobile rig fixup (Resolved!)

Congratulationfor solving your problem, however I am surprised that you have no voltage drop during transmitt. Personally I do not crimp any connector used for transmitt purposes nor use any form that jist presses connections with higher current. There are lighter plug that that allow to tighten the...

Re: RTL-SDR Dongle V3 knocking out Wireless Networks

Which frequencies are the wireless networks affected operate on and how far away from you were they affecte. Do you use an additional LNA or do or your neighbours have an active TV amplifier left over from terrestrial reception times, use a portable TV antenna with built in amplifier (rabbit ears an...

Re: O.T. Icom IC27A 2 meter mobile rig fixup and BNC connect

If you have accesss to a Standing Wave Ratio meter use a 1/2 wave coax to meassure the reflections. Both cable and SWR have to have the same impedance as your TRx output connector. You did not show a picture of the gap you ask about. Do you refer to a PL-type antenna connector (PL-259 also called UH...

Discone antenna work very well on short wave!

Discone antenna work very well on short wave! however I wonder if you could fit it into your attic, since it will have to have much larger dimensions than yours to work on short wave  . Over at QRZ forums you will get some idea from this thread http://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/discon...

Coax for Antenna on the roof or in the attic ?

Check the HAM Bands and you should get a lot of conversations. For cable you should check for - do you have many strong (local) that you have consider for very good shielding - you don't necessarily the ones written above there may be other coax-types (cellflex, flexwell) with similar/better specs a...

Re: Antenna on the roof or in the attic ?

Was Kenn correct you want to primarily receive ADSB, or is your interest more in terrestrial signals? If it is ADSB a Q&D (Quick and Dirty design) using a small 1/4 wave ground plane on a ~5 m fiberglass fisching rod or 2 by 4 piece of wood, is easier to set up and secure e.g. on a balcony, than a l...
