Re: RTL-SDR high pitched sound in trunked recordings

Can you tune to the voice frequency in a program with FFT and waterfall display and confirm if you're seeing an RFI spike there? It might just be some local electronics causing a spike.

Depending on what software you're using you might be able to notch it out.

Re: External radio function and distorted audio

What are your PC specs?

What software are you using? Try other programs too to rule out any software issues.

Re: sdrsharp audio

AH okay you're using Airspy products. It would be best to ask on their forums airspy.groups.io as they have the expertise there for their products.

I'd guess that maybe your PC isn't powerful enough to run the full 10MSPS bandwidth, and begins to struggle after a while?

Re: RTL-SDR destabilizes USB sound card?

The RTL-SDR and USB sound card might be fighting for USB bandwidth. Try plugging the RTL-SDR into a different USB port that is hopefully on a separate USB controller on your PC.

Reducing the RTL-SDR sample rate will also help reduce the amount of bandwidth it needs.

Re: No audio

If the dongle is showing stuff on the waterfall it's not going to be faulty. Audio is created entirely in the software.

Probably just the mode settings set wrong. Upload a screenshot please showing your settings.

Re: Rtl_fm dsd and Linux

Look like you've resampled to 48k, but are trying to play it with an 8k rate? Try using play -r48k

Re: waterfall no audio

You posted in the 'other sdr devices' but didn't say which SDR you are using? Can we have a little more info e.g. SDR device, what software you're using. Screenshots are very helpful.

Re: Hear Audio Output

Maybe a better way would be to use a tone or computer speech to read out the SNR every so often.

Re: Broke both microUSB ports

Huh weird, no breakages for a year then two people break the microUSB within a few days of each other! Must be bad microUSB luck time.

Contact us at [email protected] and [email protected] with some photos and we'll see if a repair is even possible.
