Airspy HF+ Gain conntrol

The way I see it the HF+ is running at max gain , this hides the weak signals in the noise floor . Well last century I had gotten a RF signal attenuator from Radio shack ( remember them ) . Now I can do some righteous DXing . The HF+ with the RF signal attenuator in front of it is a good combination...

Re: Airspy HF+

Hi Jel . If I were you as a starter way to get into this hobby is to buy a MFJ 1020C and the RTL V3 . That would save you eighty dollars as apposed to buying the airspy HF+ . The V3 and MFJ 1020C is a grate match . I can't recommend the HF+ because of lack of software to run it . SDR Sharp software ...

Thank you for getting back to me . your RTL-SDR dongle does support HF frequencies it's the V3 model . I guess from what your indicating is SDRAngel RTL-SDR doesn't support direct sampling mode . Re: RFI shielded computer case

Hi JTC . Copper and iron water pipes make for a really good ground but not a good antenna , also if you have hot water or steam heat , the pipes from that would make a good ground . Now for a antenna you could use copper tape for a decorative border for wall , ceiling . You can get the tape from eba...
