Re: RTL-SDR dongle over Ethernet

Hello, Sorry for the late reply (I was on holiday). The router is on the ground floor and the raspberry pi is on the second floor. That's why it's a bit slow... Why isn't LAN over power line a good solution? For me, the best solution is to use Spyserver on the raspberry pi as it doesn't need much ba...

Re: RTL-SDR dongle over Ethernet

Thanks for sharing.

With my Wifi network, only the spyservers work. I haven't got enough bandwidth for RTL_TCP or Virtualhere. It was worth a try anyway.
Maybe it could work with LAN over power line ?

James

Re: Recommendation for USB SDR dongle decoding for RF remotes?

For a simple 433 Mhz radio control (without rolling codes), you can use a Raspberry pi with a set of rf433 modules (less than 2 euros from Aliexpress). You copy the code once with the receiver and then you can resend it with the transmitter. You can install a simple webserver on the raspberry pi to ...

Re: Are websdrs, spyservers etc... legal?

Hello Susan,

Thanks for answering.

So from your point of view, websdrs and spyservers aren't legal beause you're not allowed to retransmit the stuff that you receive ? Is that right ?

Regards,

James

Re: Are websdrs, spyservers etc... legal?

Hello, Thanks for your answer. For example, if you look at this site : (Radiocommunications Act 1989) http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1989/0148/latest/DLM197387.html?search=ts_all%40act%40bill%40regulation_radiocommunications#DLM197387 It says : "Offence to disclose contents of radiocommun...

Are websdrs, spyservers etc... legal?

Hello,

In many countries, you're not allowed to share the information that you receive with a scanner. So my question is 'are websdrs and spyservers legal?'
Is it legal to share your Ads-b or AIS data?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Regards,

James.

Re: Inmarsat with spyserver ?

For those interested, I managed to get some good results on this server sdr://pjm.uhf-satcom.com:55555
In SDR#, the settings are : Frequency = 1.541.448.200. Bandwidth = 2340 Hz. Gain = 18. Volume = 55 dB
I'm using stdcdemo to decode.

Re: Inmarsat with spyserver ?

Thanks for trying.
Does anyone know what the other signals are? Is it possible to decode them?

James.
