Re: Help with Antenna

An antenna of about 15 inch should be good enough to pick up FM broadcast stations. It sounds like you need to bump up the RF gain on your dongle popup where your selecting sampling rate , ppm, etc......different than audio gain. Even with V3 in direct sampling mode to get down to the HF and AM band...

Re: How to identify multiple RTL-SDR sticks in one computer?

I'm running Ubuntu with 5 dongles. rtl_eeprom -s ............give each a new ser # .....number your case too so you can see it when plugged in. The last inserted usb dongle always fills into -d 0 .......for me.... They seem to stay the same place until you add another unit.....then it takes -d 0 and...

Re: usb extension

5M is pushing your luck. Get an active if you don't have the will to do the run twice. I have xilinx prog dongles fail at that distance.

Re: Trouble receiving anything?

So that sounds like the freq offset in SDR # is enabled. ( -125000000 ) You would use this only if you are using an up converter to listen to the HF bands...Other than that perhaps bump up the RF gain on the sharp device popup. Catches me frequently when I say to myself....where'd everyone go?

Re: spyserver

If your trying to receive streams from spyservers.....then you don't need your own airspy hardware locally.
The spyserver should have the radio on its's side and you point your sdrsharp at the remote spyserver IP address and port.

Re: limited recption

My first impression is that your in direct sampling mode which is meant for <30Mhz receive mode.
I think your using EXTIO_RTL2832.dll to select the dongle. Disable the direct sample in the EXTIO popup.

Re: MultiMode Receiver for GRC

I don't have a multimode, but did you know that there is a converter script to get to ver 3.7? I've used it with some success.

Re: Trouble receiving anything?

Boxman,

You said....I cranked the gain up full, but see absolutely no signals, not even noise. So your seeing no trace at all..kind of like you haven't hit the start/run button for that particular app?
Please post a screen capture.
Also Linux or Windows?
If linux.....type rtl_test in cmd window.
