Re: Nonlinear junction detector

I think you would need full duplex unless you have a seperate signal source.

Re: 1090 Antenna real or Fake?

There is no way to tell without some sort of measurement. Many antennas I get from reputable brand name suppliers dont come close to meeting their performance specs.

New Spiral Antenna

https://hexandflex.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/big-and-little.jpg?w=300 Hi all, Hopefully Rtlsdr wont mind me posting here with an antenna i'm selling on Tindie. In mitigation I have tried hard to provide really good documentation on how it was designed and the decisions that went into it. Hopefull...

Re: Hotter SDR?

When I connect an antenna directly(without cable) to my LimeSDRmini the antenna acts as a bit of a heatsink and helps to keep it cool. Still sits at about 50c though. When I use a cable I loose a lot of this effect.

Re: My new DIY Planar disk antenna

That should work well. You basically have two radiation modes. These modes should seemlessles transistion between each other. 1st is a fat dipole that will cover the lower bands. Lower frequency will be dictated by the total height of the antenna(lambda/2) 2nd is like a Vivaldi antenna that will giv...

Hi Phil, Seems like it took a while to reach you. Not a great advert for our Royal Mail. Glad it turned up in the end tough.

Re: Ultra-WideBand Vivaldi Antenna 800MHz to 6GHz+

Hi Airwind, I don't have any current plans to sell on ebay. Never say never though. Tindie has worked really well for me and I wasn't aware of any problems with paypal on Tindie. Its how I recieve my funds from them and I havent had a problem. They also give the buyer a bit more protection than ebay...

No problem. A bit more info on my new spiral antenna design here. https://hexandflex.com/2018/10/05/spiral-antenna-part-2-modelling-and-simulation-with-openems/amp/ I'm expecting the first prototype back from the fab this week, so its still untested. I also have a couple of nice extra features in th...

Re: Ultra-WideBand Vivaldi Antenna 800MHz to 6GHz+

Hi Phil, Good to hear that its interesting to people other than me. So you are aware of the likely timescales. I'm still awaiting the first prototype back from the fab. If it passes my initial testing I then need to send it over to the measurement lab for some proper testing. There is a risk that it...
