Re: Ultra-WideBand Vivaldi Antenna 800MHz to 6GHz+

Hi Phil, Seems like it took a while to reach you. Not a great advert for our Royal Mail. Glad it turned up in the end tough.

Re: Ultra-WideBand Vivaldi Antenna 800MHz to 6GHz+

Hi Airwind, I don't have any current plans to sell on ebay. Never say never though. Tindie has worked really well for me and I wasn't aware of any problems with paypal on Tindie. Its how I recieve my funds from them and I havent had a problem. They also give the buyer a bit more protection than ebay...

Re: Ultra-WideBand Vivaldi Antenna 800MHz to 6GHz+

No problem. A bit more info on my new spiral antenna design here. https://hexandflex.com/2018/10/05/spiral-antenna-part-2-modelling-and-simulation-with-openems/amp/ I'm expecting the first prototype back from the fab this week, so its still untested. I also have a couple of nice extra features in th...

Re: Ultra-WideBand Vivaldi Antenna 800MHz to 6GHz+

Hi Phil, Good to hear that its interesting to people other than me. So you are aware of the likely timescales. I'm still awaiting the first prototype back from the fab. If it passes my initial testing I then need to send it over to the measurement lab for some proper testing. There is a risk that it...

Re: Ultra-WideBand Vivaldi Antenna 800MHz to 6GHz+

Hi Phil, this is my antenna. It should work as a feed for a c band dish. To get optimum results you would need the beamwidth of the antenna to be matched to the diameter of the dish. Otherwise you risk loosing some gain with if the feed antenna spills over the sides of the dish. You might also consi...

Re: Antenna

Hi Charlie1, It really depends upon what frequencies and directivity you need. The RTL-SDR store here sells a dipole kit that would be ok for many tasks. This lets you adjust the telescopic elements to tune the frequency of operation. I also sell an ultra-wideband antenna on Tindie which optimised f...

Re: new Broadband design dc to 25 GHz to a much wider bandwidth of 10 to 110 GHz.

Well its hard for most DIYers to test the antenna at those frequencies, but you can probably make a fairly good eliptical monopole for lower frequencies(up to a few GHz). Obviously you need the kit to test and adjust it for optimum performance, but it will probably work well enough with guess work. ...

Re: UltraWideBand antenna design

Your cheap ADS-B antenna is will help filter out out of band signals. A bit like having a bandpass filter built in. With the UWB antenna there will be lots of other strong signals getting into the front end of the HackRF. This will lift the noise floor. The hackRF, while a great SDR for the money, i...
