JTempestSDR

Does "JTempestSDR" still run on Windows10 for people here? On my system it seems it doesn't work anymore. When I try to run the .jar file nothing happens. No error-messages or anything. Just nothing. So I'm wondering if it's some windows update that broke things on my end, or if it's broken for all.

Re: Any antenna suggestions?

The stations also tend to be on other and multiple frequencies. The strong stations are now on most frequencies and overlap all the time. I search an antenna that: - can receive between 80 - 130 MHz So the BCFM (Commercial FM-radio) stations overlap and repeat on various frequencies? Wouldn't that ...

Re: SDR# scanner plugin

I see this thread dates back to last year, with new comments added recently, so I guess it's in place to post the following here: This scanner is superb in SDR# : http://rtl-sdr.ru/page/obnovlen-timeshift-i-scanner Very fast and very flexible. The wider your SDR-spectrum is, the faster it can scan. ...

Re: Trying to receive 137 MHz on boat

Now for FM broadcast. Below is a SDR screen shot for one of the strongest stations. Here I have AGC off and RF Gain set to 30 dB (lower left hand corner). Is this too strong of a signal? Just to chime in with my own experiences here; I have plenty of brodcast-FM signals that reach similar height (W...

Re: V3 warms up even when computer is shut down

USB power has always been default to be off when the computer is shut down. I've never encountered a computer so far that has them on. What's the model of your PC/Laptop? Assuming this was for me. I use a so-called 'gamer-pc' set to 'high performance'. Maybe that's what keeps USB active. I don't kn...

Re: VST2 host for SDR#?

Hi Jacob, What do you require for a plugin to host your VST filters? I could probably write you a a plugin with an interface you could use to implement your code... Eddie Well, the thing is I code in a language called JSFX, which is then compiled into VST2 .dll files. These VST2 files are loaded by...

Re: V3 warms up even when computer is shut down

What PC do you have that keeps USB power on? Assuming the Q is for me; I have a windows10 ASUS. I do believe windows10 does indeed use some kind of 'always on' (Under the hood, so to speak) in order to be able to boot fast. But in the windows settings I noticed that USB are always ON. I never chang...

Re: V3 dongle overheating?

Remember that the burning sensation in your fingers can happen even if the temperature is not much higher than about 45C (About 113F)

It doesn't have to be much above body-temp before it feels very warm.

Re: V3 warms up even when computer is shut down

I believe it's pretty normal for USB's to keep power ON even when the PC is shut-down. There's a setting in Windows and/or BIOS (You'd have to google for 'selective suspend' or 'USB power after shutdown', or something along those lines, to find more info on it than I know from memory) where you can ...
