Re: Satellite dish as a directional antenna?

Satellite dishes are highly directional, so they are not going to make a good general purpose antenna unless you can point them at some specific direction, whether it's a geosync satellite, or some LOS terrestrial transmitter.

Re: Can't receive anything.

Your subject title is highly misleading. FM *is* something, and since you can receive FM radio stations, that shows that your HW and SW is functional. You need a very different antenna at much lower frequencies (i.e. AM) and that may very well explain why you can't get anything below a certain frequ...

The full frequency-range, without needing an up-converter, is very appealing though.
Their other, less expensive products (RSP1A, RSP2) also have a full frequency range.

this radical new product will provide radio enthusiasts, engineers and researchers, with unique and truly exciting capabilities.
A dual tuner is a radical new product? Really?!?

While it does offer a few things over other USB SDRs, I would've added a USB3 port to differentiate it a bit more.

Re: SDR setup that a non-geek can use?

SDR# comes with a DOS batch file that automatically downloads and installs all the needed SW. (I installed my first SDR manually by reading the fine manual, well before V3 was released) I also have an Airspy HF+, and that was plug and play with Win 10, though I had to manually download and install a...

It's hard to say without a signal generator who or what is at fault, but I can't think of several things: 1. there could be an impedance mismatch between you...

Re: SDR# stops playing when using Airspy HF+

I do not think data rate in itself is much of an issue in any way, though I'd definitely prefer USB 3.0 for the HF+. The cheap 8-bit SDRs usually run at 2.4 Msp/s and 16 times more data is just 38.4 Msp/s, more than enough to go through USB 2.0. But I don't think the AirSpy sends that much data anyh...

SDR# stops playing when using Airspy HF+

I have a couple of cheap SDRs (NooElec & SDR-RTL v3); and an AIRSPY HF+, and I mostly use them to listen to FM stations. With respect to performance, the AIRSPY HF+ is significantly better than the others; however, SDR# stops playback roughly once in an hour for no apparent reason when using the Air...
