Re: Ground RTL-SDR to mast. Good or bad idea?

I do not necessarily want to ground everything. Nothing is properly grounded, it's just an 30 mm diameter aluminium pipe with an Diamond X30N antenna on top of it on the attic. I had this same setup around 10 years ago with a coax cable running to a lower floor. The reason I want to use cable ties t...

Re: Ground RTL-SDR to mast. Good or bad idea?

Other concern is that the ground from the dongle to the ground of the antenna is choosing the path of less resistance which can be the mast tube instead of the coax shielding. Could this affect the coax cable characteristics?

Re: TETRA Trunk Tracker for use with SDR# and TETRA Demodulator plug-in

I'm not sure how I fixed it (probably a reboot or hide encrypted data option) but I don't hear the encrypted voice on low volume anymore. :) Something else I noticed: TTT is setting the WFM bandwidth to 26 kHz, while I see people around the internet mentioning or advising 25 kHz, 40 kHz, 48 kHz, etc...

It's simply because you don't have an Airspy device.

Re: TETRA Trunk Tracker for use with SDR# and TETRA Demodulator plug-in

Thank you for testing. This IQ base band sample was just for testing if the volume got louder at your setup. Due to the crashing recording plugin I wasn't able to make a recording to catch the behaviour described at scenario 3 in my long post in this thread. However TTT is also suppressing those cal...

Re: TETRA Trunk Tracker for use with SDR# and TETRA Demodulator plug-in

I think the Tetra network behaviour is different in Australia. In the Netherlands there is no control only channel. It's all more or less CC/VC combined. Could you do one more test for me please? Because I hear the encrypted voice with my volume at only 15%. Just to make sure I don't have audio leak...

Re: TETRA Trunk Tracker for use with SDR# and TETRA Demodulator plug-in

First some background information about the Tetra Demodulator plugin and the bugs it got (maybe it helps understanding the problem). I already tried to contact TSSDR on the Russian forum but he hasn't been active for while. I cut this reply in 3 chapters to make it more readable. There are 3 types o...

Re: SDR# + Windows 10 Pro + gr-dect2?

Can the RTL-SDR tune to DECT signals? The signals are between 1880 and 1900 MHz.

Re: 10 feet / 3 meters USB extension cord

I will not recommend phone charging cables for SDR's since they have barely to no shielding. I didn't propose to use such a cable, I was just trying to explain that cable diameter is not ameasure of resistance of the power lines. It was just a general advice against in case someone find this topic ...
