Re: Outdoor tower (tree) antenna mounting questions for Kraken and Kerberos SDR

KrakenSDR won't be designed for outdoor use, but you could enclosure it in your own waterproof box (probably needs a fan though). Kraken will draw about 1.5A, more if you're using the bias tees. I'm not sure how it will operate with such a long USB cable though, even if it's fibre. I'd guess that an...

Re: Spotty Accuracy When Tracking Transmitter

Don't use MEM, I would recommend using the MUSIC algorithm first.

Can you provide some pictures of your setup? What are you using to test?

Are your calibration graphs looking nice and straight with the antennas disconnected?

Re: HOW TO WATCH DVB-T WITH RTL2832U (R820T2)

Just use the drivers, the software they included with the drivers is old and probably broken now. Plenty of other options like ProgDVB.

Re: Theoretical questions

Please consult the guide at www.rtl-sdr.com/ksdr You need to perform sample and IQ sync first after booting the Kerberos, or after changing frequency. This is to achieve phase coherence. For FIR filtering, the value is how "tight" or "sharp" the filter is. Basically how rectangular it is. The gain w...

Re: Stability Issue using Nooelec Up Converter ?.

What upconverter do you have? By using an SDR + upconverter you're doubling the potential drift. Make sure both have a TCXO, and keep the ambient temp stable.

Those all in one units will probably drift much worse, as they usually do not have a TCXO.

Re: RTL2832U work with Rpi Zero WH or other low power alternatives?

A Pi Zero should be able to run the dongle but without any sort of graphics or advanced processing. rtl_power should work.

Can you test on another computer without the adapter? That type of error usually indicates some problems with the dongle talking to the USB. Sometimes caused by bad USB cables/adapters.

Re: New L-Band Patch Antenna Question

If the signal is strong then yes it will still see it, but as you're probably dealing with weak radiosonde signals it won't be the best choice.

Re: Receiving NFC signals from contactless card - 13.56MHz HF

14.4 MHz is the Nyquist zone cutoff point, so things can get a bit funky around that frequency. This might be a case where an upconverter with an amplifier is required. You could also try disconnecting the VHF/UHF path by removing C13 (next to D6 by the MCX connector). That might stop some signal l...
