I have a Terratec Tstick+ USB dongle, which I believe to have a RTL 2832U chip with a E4000 tuner.

Ultimately, I would like to plug the Tstick+ onto my macbook with OS X 10.9 and watch DVB-T TV with the ability to tune.

So what software do I need to download apart from gqrx?

If you want to watch DVB-T TV, then GQRX and SDR is not what you want. There is a difference between the DVB-T TV watching drivers and SDR drivers. SDR drivers enable the stick as a general purpose radio, but don't allow for DVB-T TV watching. This site and forum is mainly about the SDR drivers.

I'm not sure about OSX, but newer Linux kernels have the RTL2832U DVB-T drivers included, and all you need to do is plug it in a run a DVB-T program like Kaffeine or ME-TV. I don't know about the DVB-T driver and software situation for OSX unfortunately.
