Frequency correction

Post by rocky28965 » Sun Nov 26, 2017 3:37 am

My device is labelled:
DVB-T+FM+DAB 820T2 & SDR

I have two questions relating to frequency correction

1/ Once a frequency correction (ppm) figure has been set for a particular frequency.
Should that figure be the same for all other frequencies?

2/ Should the frequency correction (ppm) remain as constant or have to be reset periodically.

1) Setting the PPM covers all frequencies.

2) The PPM can drift over time as the dongle warms up, due to thermal drift. It can also change if the ambient temperature changes. To stabilize you can try put it in a box to create a sort of oven insulation effect. Or just get a better dongle with a TCXO oscillator already built in.
