Filter Amp for 800 MHz

Post by n0nhj » Tue May 29, 2018 9:06 pm

Is there a good source for a filter for the US 800 band (851-862 MHz). I have several receivers near cell sites and being able to get the narrow bandpass similar to the ADSB filter would be great.

Any consideration of RTL-SDR.com making a filter/amp for the 800 band similar to the ADSB filter?

Thanks

What are you receiving in the 851-862 MHz freq range? Isn't that the cell band itself?

Normally for more obscure ranges you'll need to look at places like minicircuits for something close enough.

In the United States the 851-862 is the 800 MHz public safety band (851-854) and Business band (854-862).
Since the Cell band starts at 869 I haven't found a narrow enough filter.

I have a feeling that you may have a hard time finding a steep enough filter for those frequencies.

I would go for a directional antenna such as a Yagi oriented in a way that the cell tower would be in its "blind spot"

There are some SAW's on Golledge that might work https://www.golledge.com/products/?othe ... ageSize=25.

This one seems to be the closest match: https://www.golledge.com/media/2292/mp02701.pdf

Still unfortunately not going to get much attenuation right at 869 MHz though.
