RTL-SDR.COM ceased working since Update from Microsoft

Post by RBSQUARED » Tue Dec 11, 2018 6:33 pm

My RTL-SDR.COM device WAS doing very well. Then Microsoft pushed a Realtek 2832U piece of software. Now RTL 1090 cannot access it! Tried going into Registry to remove ANY of its parts. No darn luck! Any suggestions?

You can use a restore point created before the install to restore your PC to the previous state. (I've used that, and it works)

Reinstalling the RTL-SDR SW should also do the trick. (have not tried that, though)

The usual thing is that Microsoft replaces the SDR driver with a TV driver..
Use Zadig again.

Windows update just likes to overwrite the drivers with broken Windows ones.

Just run Zadig again and you'll be fine.

I definitely ran Zadig and resolved the unit working. Now the magic question: Mapping USB port to COM port!

It doesn't matter which USB port I put it in. How do I determine WHICH COM
port it is? If I can't do that, then I CANNOT feed FlightRadar24!

Location 0 (Port_#0004.Hub_#0001) This IS where it is!
