GNU Radio isn't working with RTL-SDR

Post by Ben321 » Fri Jul 26, 2019 10:48 pm

I downloaded the latest Windows installer for GNU Radio at and installed it. But I can't get it to connect with my RTL-SDR dongle. Whenever I click the button to run the graph I created with the GNU Radio blocks, it stops after a couple seconds, and displays no error at all. Here's a screencap of what my graph looks like.

And here's the full text in the console from running the graph.

Code: Select all

Generating: 'C:\\Users\\Ben321\\Documents\\'

Executing: C:\Program Files\GNURadio-3.7\gr-python27\python.exe -u C:\Users\Ben321\Documents\

>>> Done
Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance.

I would say you have to open the rtl_source box and add a line in the Device Arguments field like
rtl=0 or other info.

I had the same problem. The fix was to use an older version of the windows installer:

Latest/broken version: v3.7.13.5/v1.6
Working older version: v3.7.11.1/v1.3

Alternately, the user Mazilla suggested the following:

Try to set 'Device argument' in 'RTL-SDR Source' to 'rtl=1'

Here was my post about it:
