rtl-sdr for audible alarm of AIS detection

I don't need fancy plotting etc. Just an audible alarm on AIS signal detection. Prefer open source. Prefer Linux but Windows possible if no Linux. Unless someone knows of a cheap ship radar detector on the market. Thanks.

As in detecting the presence of any AIS signal, or detecting the presence of a particular vessel? There are many AIS decoders out there already.
