Hello everyone,

I would like to introduce a new installer i made.
After many hours of tinkering. i came up with the following:
Automated OS Detection (i need yet to confirm if win xp drivers work yes or no?)
If no, someone please use zadig to extract Drivers for xp on thier xp machine and send to me and i will include it.
If it works also let me know :P

*Automated installer for drivers
This installer will:
Detect OS Version and install driver automatically no more manual select using zadig
Install unlimited dongles all in one click (no longer manually installing one by one using zadig)
No longer accidental (wrong device selection)
No longer will windows in some cases try to overwrite the driver with its default driver for "TV mode"

If desired you can opt to install the following with Basic settings pre-configured (handy for beginners):
*Basic install with common settings of SDRSHARP (shortcut to desktop)
*Install of ADSBSHARP and ADSBSCOPE pre-configured (shortcut to desktop)
*Help file to get started(shortcut to desktop)
*Uninstaller

ALL RIGHTS GO TO THEIR RESPECTFUL OWNERS/CREATORS FOR THE SOFTWARE INCLUDED

Here is a link to the installer:
""Go to the bottom of this topic there is a new version out!!""
The installer is (approx 60 MB zipped)
I hope this is a benefit to the SDR community.

Thanks for reading and i hope this is deemed worthy of being posted

Jacob

Hello every one,

I had my first report back on XP, i was told it gave errors (i'am looking into this hopefully soon)
From what i am understanding from the user, windows xp reads certain command syntax a little different.

simple example code explaining simple syntax difference:

Command /do something
Should be:
Command -do something

Till i get a hand on some screen shots from him, i will be able to confirm where i go wrong.

I hope to have it fixed soon (busy family life  )

All the best.

If any one is interested i can also make a portable installer for just the drivers only.
For those who just like the convenience and for those who have more than 1 dongle to install
Image

And i think there might also be a future use for possibly naming each dongle something like:
Bulk-In, Interface A (Interface 0)
Bulk-In, Interface B (Interface 0)
Bulk-In, Interface C (Interface 0)
Bulk-In, Interface D (Interface 0) ETC.
I read somewhere about some people having trouble figuring out what dongle is running what service on thier machine
So maybe naming them might help (if i can figure out how to do that)

Hello every one,

After posting a new installer for RTL SDR a while back, i am stuck with the following windows xp portion of the installer.
I will also post just a driver installer only version for people that are only interested in that for their projects. (once the issue is resolved)

Please read,

-Windows 7 & Windows 8 are working 100%
-I need to fix Windows XP

I had a windows xp computer from a friend to use, therefor i was able to check the xp module of the installer.

I need your help to fix it!!!
I have fixed an issue where it asks for autodriver.bat so it will get included once i can fix the following problem

Part of the installer is made using the Microsoft Development kit.

Here is where i get stuck, i use DPINST.EXE to install the drivers to the appropriate location.

However the following happens even without my program when i am just testing the program DPINST.EXE on its own i get this under windows XP:

DPINST.EXE is not a valid win32 application.

So i am stuck here.

in my observation:
-DPINST.EXE is indeed a WIN32 bit application
-The file isn't corrupt
-Microsoft tells me: it is supposed to work from WIN XP all the way up to WIN 8
-WIN XP support no longer available "i could ask for paid help but ...no thanks i am doing this as a hobby and try to help make other people life easier  "

If any on here could help out that would be greatly appreciated

"So busy with family life that i will need some help ;) "

All the best,
Scanner goderich

Try uploading to mega.co.nz, or maybe we can even host it for you if it's not too big.
