Hi there,

I have a stick that is recognised under Zadig as RTL2838UHIDIR. I have the latest PNAIS 4.4 and have set the frequency correction to 55, then ticked both 'Use AGC' and 'Use RTL'. For the antenna I am using a coax collinear which I made myself, and had good results tracking aircraft. However, I am not getting anything using PNAIS (or AISRec)

Unfortunately I am actually on a ship, with a very slow connection, so cannot download .NET 3.5 to look at the signal in SDRSharp.

Just wondered if anybody else is using this chipset, and can give me some pointers for optimum settings.

What frequency is your coax collinear tuned to? If you made it for ADS-B at 1090 MHz, it might not work so well for AIS at 162 MHz, though it probably should be able to pick up your ships own AIS signal if it's broadcasting.

Also, using manual gain instead of the AGC's will probably give you better reception.

Good point, I followed a guide on here (though cannot find it now) and made a three element array, so quite possibly it is tuned for ADS-B

I'll give it a go on manual gain..

OK, got good results with AGC ticked on both and ppm 72/73 (got my first hit on 56ppm and kept going up until I got equal on A & B).
