Hello,
Thanks for the photos. What receiver are you using for HF, how is the antenna connected to it (directly or with a balun) ?
What sort of distance can you receive ?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Upgrade from an rtl-sdr dongle?
I used 450 ohm latter line to a matching transformer, not a balun , a transformer isolates the antenna from the the receiver .
The transformer is 450 ohms to 75 ohms . I am using the HF+. Now for distance with propagation half way around the big blue ball .

Re: Upgrade from an rtl-sdr dongle?
Hello,
So ladder line + transformer is better than normal wire + balun ?
How does the RTL-SDR "Portable Antenna Set with 7M Long Wire and Telescopic Whip" perform in HF ? Does "Matching SMA Adapter" mean that there's some sort of balun or adapter in the sma connexion ?
Thanks again for your help,
James

Well James You now asking questions that are above my pay grade . I only know about what I did . Sorry ! Go to google and put this in The Loop on Ground Antenna , and this terminating resistor in antennas than read , read and read .
