Sodira SDR software

Post by eianbro » Sun May 07, 2017 10:18 am

I have been attempting to receive DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) transmissions on short-wave. I have been using SDR#, VB-Cable and Dream decoding software in Windows 10 on a 7-year old Acer laptop with Intel dual core processor running at 1.55GHz. I decided to try the German Sodira software, as it enabled me to use a single software app instead of three. I think it must be more demanding on the laptop as I was unable to use my Airspy Mini dongle, which samples at 3000k and reverted to using my RTL-SDR.COM v3 dongle with the rtl2832.dll ExtIO. I had to reduce the sampling rate to 1536k to avoid "choppy" AM reception. I'm waiting for a suitably strong DRM signal to try it out on : Radio Romania International is a good source, and in the evenings I can sometimes receive Radio France International on 3965kHz, although its power is only 1kW. I use SV1AFN 200MHz up-converter with a Mini-Whip antenna, built from a kit obtained from Russia, via e-bay.
I should like to hear from anyone else who has used Sodira or any other software for DRM reception.

http://www.dsp4swls.de/sodira/sodiraeng.html is the web address for the Sodira software. http://www.rtl-sdr.com/big-list-rtl-sdr ... -software/ will link you to most of the available SDR software.
