Hi Username,
A Downconverter is not needed.
Dongle+Bias Tee +LNB 12V for Vertical Transponder.
Make sure Bias Tee is correctly orientated, the Voltage goes to LNB not to Dongle!!
Connect powered Bias Tee to LNB without Dongle and check the Dongle connector does not
have Voltage on it!!
PSU can be 12Volt at 1 Amp the LNB only draws around 140 milliamp.
Turn Dish to 26 Degrees East. (ES'HailSat 1+2 - Badr Group of Satellites).
Dongle frequency will need to be around 739.500 MHz.
In the Shift dialogue box in SDR# type 9750000000 for the shift frequency, press shift to enable.
Main frequency in SDR# will then show the 10 GHz Satellite frequency.

Make sure Dongle gain is lower than normal receiving mode, around 12.7 or 14.4 dB works OK.
Should have noisefloor set to around 60.

Check out the AMSAT- DL website or forums for info.

Get an LNB like an Octagon PLL OTSLO or similar, 12-15 Euros, (normal DRO ones drift too much).
Good Luck.

On my Pc I use just an good old "Narrow" Band SDR with 2mhz bandwidth. :D
When I look into the 868Mhz Area where just a lot of different Short Range Frequency are there happend nothing real interesting beside of some Analogue Headphons which an very strong output power. :D
Below is DVB-T2 and above well its just Cellphone and ADBS.
