Anybody listen to these wild men on US 11 Meters 27 MHz old CB band? (Ch 6 mostly) What makes these guys tick? In Ohio I was picking up a guy transmitting from Dade County Florida. How much is this is just illegal unlicensed power, and how much is atmospheric ducting ?? Picked up a CB at a yard sale for 10 bucks and there is like no local traffic, but I am 30 miles from an Interstate highway.

Hi here in Europe i use a legal CB with 12w SSB and the sound Modem thinks work for om Vienna to Germany, France, Spain,... It really depend what Kind of antenna you use and how the athomsoheric condition are. Why not try to put a sound Modem on and see how far you reach?
