Hey guys, I recently disassembled an antenna for L band satellite communication, but the structure inside is something I never seen before. There are two pcb boards sits in parallel, no wire is connected between two plates. I took some photos of them, however the underneath board cannot be taken out, so I just draw a circle represents the upper PCB board. What’s underneath the top PCB board is the PCB board shown in the photo, it also comes with a directional coupler on the back. Anyone know what kind of antenna is this?

What antenna is this
Re: What antenna is this
We can't see the actual antenna, but it's probably an L-Band circular patch antenna. The 'directional coupler on the back is actually a 90 degree hybrid used to feed the antenna and provide the circular polarisation.
