Cross-cable interference?

Post by Kenn » Fri Jun 03, 2016 12:02 am

Tomorrow the cable company will be giving us a fresh drop of RG-6 to replace the 30 year old lossy stuff. The plan is to have it enter the building at the same point as my antennas, which means all these cables will be running in close parallel for about 10 feet.

The question is, might there be any cross-cable interference with this arrangement?

I'll also do some before/after screen grabs to compare noise spikes.

Thanks!

Shouldn't be any interference since coax is shielded, but only way to know for sure is to test it.

You're spot-on. The noise levels actually dropped after installing the new line, so perhaps the old line was worse than I thought. Always use good coax!
