New R820T2 Dongle Suddenly Unrecognized

I received a new R820T2 dongle today and everything was working great (SDRsharp, Unitrunker, DSD. You name it). I restarted my computer and suddenly the dongle is unrecognized by everything, including zadig.

To make matters worse, my computer acts strangely when the dongle is plugged in. I lose all control of the keyboard and my device manager seems to refresh itself at regular intervals. When I unplug the dongle, everything goes back to normal on my computer. The laptop recognizes other USB devices, no problems.

I'm running Windows 10

Is there some setting I can tweak on my computer to try and start anew? Please don't tell me the dongle is bricked. I had it for like twenty minutes...

Almost sounds like the dongle is drawing too much power, causing the usb controller to overload and restart. That’s why the other usb devices don’t work and Device Manager refreshes. Have you tried other USB ports, a USB hub, or another computer?

Might be a defective dongle. Problems like this are rare at about 0.3%, but that does mean that at least 1-2 customers a week will find a defective dongle sadly.

Is there any chance your windows punchbox did an OS update? These can wipe out drivers that you added manually.
