I installed GNURadio Companion on my windows 8.1 machine. I can't find a source named "RTL-SDR". I have seen GNURadio Companion images that others have created that show "RTL-SDR" as a source. SDR# runs fine. I can tune to FM broadcasts etc with SDR#. What am I missing?

I haven't tried gnuradio under windows in a while, do you have the osmocom source/sink blocks? Those are what gnuradio uses to communicate with the RTL-SDR and other osmocom supported hardware.

Here is a link with more information about the osmocom blocks, I'm not sure how to install them off hand under windows but if you installed the Windows release I believe they should be there. ... dio-Blocks

the simplest solution would be to install linux on your machine (you can install Ubuntu or whatever along windows), Gnu Radio, and everything get easy!
Good luck!
