How big an antenna?

I barely hear any signals at all below 30 MHz (in Q/Direct Sampling mode) with an indoor whip antenna.

But I do hear some signals if I connect the RTL-SDR up to a 20M long wire antenna in the back yard.

I didn't use a upconverter, since I assumed that the v3 can handle HF by itself.

I have a Tecsun AN-03L antenna, the dongle and the software SDRSharp.

you should use an Up converter with integrated LNA or you want receive anything.
