Driver issue

I would like to use an RTL-SDR Blog V3 with HDSDR on my PC running WinXP, but I see that there is not a Zadig driver that would work with that combination. Is there a work-around to this, or will I have to get a more modern PC?

Tnx & 73, Bruce, VE3EAR

There are XP versions for Zadig available on their site https://zadig.akeo.ie/downloads/

They are not supported, but it should work.

From the Zadig web site, I downloaded the zadig_xp-2.3exe file, which is the only one that seemed to work in my WinXP PC. When I click on Options, and bring up the list, "bulk-in, interface (interface 0)" does not appear in the list, nor do I get in the Driver boxes "RTL2832UUSB v64.1.521.20)" > "WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385)".

Thanks for any help you can offer me, Bruce

Are you sure that you're plugging it into a USB 2.0 port?

Also check in Device Manager if the dongle shows up.

I had this exact issue when trying to run the dongle on an older XP laptop that had been upgraded from Windows 98. The USB ports were only 1.0 so it didn't work. Very understandable considering the voltage and speed of a 1.0 port being way lower and slower than what a 2.0 port is.

First of all, thanks to all that responded to my query. I am late doing so, as I've been away for a while, but back home now. All is well and I'm up and running now, having sorted the USB receptacle problem. I'm looking forward to seeing what the little dongle can pull in for me on a military UHF discone up 40 feet.

Thanks & 73, Bruce, VE3EAR
