Just a quick question about SDR#

Post by Josh380 » Tue Dec 31, 2019 12:53 am

What's this information in the red circle..upper left corner? It pops up seemingly at random on different frequencies. I should note that I'm one of those guys that reads the instructions later...I've since adjusted my settings so the noise floor isn't so...noisy.

Junk, you're on WFM mode. RDS is enabled so you see station id and song names when your on a real broadcast station.

I don't think it's a plugin...it just comes with WFM.
What's that circular object below the RDS stuff?

It's a SNR Meter...the Magic Eye Plugin. But anyway, I searched the downloads for the RDS Data Logger Plugin, found it. I started looking because after reading about RDS I realized that it must not be working properly because the screenshots looked nothing like my SDR# console, and no song data was being shown...just as you said, junk.

I read the readme file, followed the instructions and I'm getting some errors. Please note the frequency is not important IMO right now as I'm just trying to get RDS to work properly.

Bear with me...I have a few screenshots to make this easier to explain.

After restarting I notice the Plugin appears to be missing from the list.

I open the Plugin Editor and the RDS Data Logger Plugin appears to be in the list:

I try to add Plugin via the zipped path and I'm greeted with this error:

What is going on here? Running Windows 10 64 bit (x86 version SDR#) and using the latest Plugin.

I've not used this RDS plugin before and I usually don't use plugin managers, so I'm probably not going to be of help.
I will say that what I've seen about the RDS plugin is that it's 4-5 years old and sdr# has evolved whereby older plugins no longer work. There's a big change around ver 1500. I think it has something to do with .NET upgrades.. Perhaps try to find an older version of SDR # and experiment. You can install multiple versions of sdr# in separate directories.
