rtl-sdr.com

I have been working on an application based on rtl_fm using librtlsdr and can receive several radio stations. I tuned to one I can pick up fin in my car but could not get it with my test app. I tried using SDR# and I can pick it up. This is using the same RTL-SDR.com dongle and antenna. Is there away to identify the different settings used by SDR# vs libsdr?

Check your rtlsdr_set_tuner_gain, rtlsdr_set_tuner_gain_mode, and rtlsdr_set_agc_mode settings.
If the AGC is off and your RF gain is way down, the RTL-SDR sensitivity will be low.
