Pet-locator beacon at 125 kHz, or... ??

Post by JEL » Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:23 am

Does this sound like a pet-locator beacon at 125 kHz?

I googled 'beacon 125 khz' and got some web-pages talking about short-range (up to 100 meters / 300 feet) devices around that frequency.

Some were beacons used for pets. Others were some kind of door-lock mechanism (key-less door-locks or electronic door-locks)

Would they sound like this? (beep... beep... beep... beep... endlessly)

If not; what might this one be?

I recorded a minute of it and put on youtube:

I see a lot of beacons like that everyday. I don't know. Pet locators should be on 433 MHz except if the device comes from China. I've saw chinese wireless telephones running without encryption on militar bands...
