Newbie wondering about two HF signals

Post by EODSarge » Fri Mar 22, 2019 12:20 am

Both appear to be digital of some sort; the first on 40 meters at 7.0755 Mhz:

The second on 60M at 5.340 Mhz sounds like CW but in two spikes:

Apparently the first one is... FT8?

Yes that is FT8 - a whole bunch of Ham stations contacting each other using that mode.

The second is probably RTTY (Radio Teletype).

Try clicking on LSB (Lower side-band) for a clearer signal.

Like this: https://www.sigidwiki.com/images/6/6a/R ... _100Bd.mp3

It's likely commercial traffic and not decodable.
