Focusing on getting the sample rate to show something first... Are you suggesting that not having the IP/network stuff fixed is actually causing the update rate issue?
I just checked, having an incorrect IP address and getting the OSError 99 doesn't result in the update rate not showing.

Any more information about your PC? I assume it's not running Linux in a VM.

Do you have a Pi3 or Tinkerboard to test on? It's going to be hard to support individual systems, so those SBCs are going to need to be the base.

Setting the IP did fix IP related issues.
Tried usb 3 still same, need to get a usb C cable to test (if power is even the issue).
Will move on to the PI 3, but of course need the usb C cable first for a pi.

First try earlier was with Kali Linux live usb (persistence)
Still says the same thing (below) on Linux Mint (HDD installation)
Note it says bytes instead of buffer now (if that means anything).

I'm getting something very similar:

[email protected]:/home/pi/kerberossdr# ./run.sh
3
Starting KerberosSDR
kill: (4860): No such process
[email protected]:/home/pi/kerberossdr# Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/pi/kerberossdr/_signalProcessing/hydra_signal_processor.py", line 169, in run
self.module_receiver.download_iq_samples()
File "/home/pi/kerberossdr/_receiver/hydra_receiver.py", line 173, in download_iq_samples
byte_data_np = np.frombuffer(byte_array_read, dtype='uint8', count=read_size)
ValueError: buffer is smaller than requested size

any ideas??

Those are normal messages to see on init. What is the actual problem that you're having?

The update rate is not showing.
My power is fine - but whenever I set my parameters and click start processing nothing happens.

Can you run all the tuners at once with rtl_test?

And are you using the image, or did you install it yourself?

I should update as I started this thread, using the pre-made pi images and having good power sources (enough amps where it needs it, hint the kerberos needs more than the pi evidently) fixed my issues.

Though this doesn't answer why I could never get it to work with my own installs.

I did run the tuner tests and they all came out fine.
I've been using the images provided - no manual installation. I can try giving the kerberos more power and see what that does

So I'm definitely leveraging enough power for the sdr - I highly doubt that's the issue here.

Can I ask how much power you gave to the kerberos?
