Wifi Trouble

Trying to set up the Kerberos Pi up for just using my wifi networks.

Instructions say to edit /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

When I do so, I get the following error:

"Error reading lock file ./.wpa_supplicant.conf.swp: not enough data read"

It seems to me something has the file locked. I have tried a few things to get access to it, with no luck.

I was able to get my own stuff added by copying a wpa_supplicant file to the sd card, but that wiped out the default file, and now I cant gain access to the web server url.

I think I have a plan to get done what i need as a work around... I will have to re-write the sd card. Boot the pi, copy the wpa_supplicant file to the boot directory, shut down, mount sd card on my laptop, edit the file where I can access it on the windows computer, then put it back in the pi and let it take over.

this will get me through, but it sure would be nice to just have it 'right'

For the record, my little backwards hack worked, just not how I would have liked to do it. Makes it complicated to modify any time I want to add a network.

Чтобы просканировать сеть WIFI вводим команду:

sudo iwlist wlan0 scan
Находим нужную нам сеть. Дальше редактируем файл настроек подключения:

sudo nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
Пропускаем первые 2 строчки:

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
И в конце файла добавляем свои настройки wifi

network={
ssid="you_wifi_name"
psk="you_wifi_password"
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
}
