Reboot when syncing with noise source

Post by SIGINT » Thu Sep 10, 2020 9:36 pm

Just received my Kerberos SDR today - antennas should arrive tomorrow.

First test: After booting up my Raspberry Pi with the latest image for KerberosSDR - I proceeded to
-Switched to the Sync tab
- Enabled Noise Source
- Enabled Sync Display

Pressed 'start processing'.

Sync would start, but after a short while the Pi rebooted.
THis happened 3 times in a row.

I then disabled noise source, hit 'Start Processing' again - and it apparently started syncing. I am not entirely sure what to look for - but assume the 3 colored lines should be more or less on top of each other.

I then attached a set of Wifi/4G antennas I had around - lined them up and started a test DF - display did react to movement of the transmitter, indicating the system is working..

Any suggestions on the reboot issue - I just realize that I likely did not hit any of the Sample/Sync - Calibrate IQ buttons, just start processing..

Regards

Cancel that. Solved by switching to a better USB cable feeding the Pi.

I do have an USB power meter - these are really great tools when comparing USB cables - charge current between the same USB 2.4A power supply and a device may range between 0.5 and. 1.9 A depending on the cable.

Does the KerberosSDR have its own power supply?

Yes, a 2.4A charger + whatever it gets from the Pi

But all reboot issues solved after changing the Micro USB cable
