About heat

This might be stupid question but is it normal for rtl-sdr.com usb dongle to heat up? And i mean like really heat up so much its almoust painfull to touch. :roll:

It is quite normal for the unit to get very hot depending on what you are using it for.

Different brands of RTL-SDR dongles seem to require different amounts of power. Some dissipate significantly more heat than others. In my experience, the E4000 dongles run cooler, and one of my smaller NooElec dongles got so hot, it burned itself out.
