New Laptop + SDRConsole (V3) + RTL2832U R820T2 Dongle = No Joy

Post by scottk » Fri May 08, 2020 7:46 am

The Subject pretty much sums it up.

The dongle & software works fine in a Win10 32-bit system, but when moving the dongle to a new Win10 64-bit system and installing the 64-bit version of SDRConsole and copying the 64-bit versions of the driver files to the proper directory, the dongle is not recognized by SDRConsole. I tried running Zadig with no-joy as well.

This is *really* getting frustrating. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Scott, are you using a Ryzen based processor? may need a different libusb-1.0 file
SDR console , I believe is fully self contained. I don't think you need any extra files or drivers...
I have concerns about your 64 bit driver statement. ....just because you have a 64 bit machine, doesn't mean everything has to be 64.
32 bit can run under 64.....but not the other way around..

Yes, It's running a Ryzen 5 Mobile processor. Where would I find the proper libusb-1.0 file for this system?

Thanks for the response!

Hi , I don't have Ryzens, but check out /github.com/rtlsdrblog/rtl-sdr-blog/releases
It has something to do with the libusb libusb 1.022
V1.01 for windows.

The person who created it moderates this site. He may chime in...

Yes please test the updated driver on our branch. I don't have a Ryzen PC so haven't been able to confirm if it makes any difference.

Hi,

For 6 months, run all the RTLSDR and install all software goodies on to a brandnew Ryzen 5.
Hardware RTLSDR, SDRplay1A, PlutoSDR, Airspy-mini
Software SDR#, SDRconsole, SDRuno several others.
No problems found.
