Trunking and just plain receiving

Users,
I am interested in trunked scanning...and just using the SDRs as a receiving set with waterfall and data transfer like PSK31. Is there code out there yet for doing something like that? I am peripherally interested in DFing signals, but that looks like a CPU cycle heavy task.

If you can provide a link for some basic receiver software for this platform, I'd appreciate it.

There are many software options for the RTL.
