SDR to detect frequencies from a device

I have a single purpose for my SDR setup.
I have a metal box connected to electrical ground to shield a prototype device and my SDR antennas from outside 'noise'. How can SDR# app (or other SDR app if better suited) be setup to sequentially and automatically scan any and all frequencies emanating from the prototype device and (hopefully) log/records the results?

Run it as a spectrum analyser.
